Construction underway for New Fire Training Tower

Work has started on the City and County of Denver’s new Fire Training Simulator. The six story steel tower will be built alongside an existing five story training tower, and will be connected at the third and fifth levels. The new enclosed tower includes training features such as a burn room, a residential training room, and an industrial training room. The residential and industrial training rooms allow the fire department to simulate conditions fire fighters experience in the field, giving them situational experience in a controlled environment. The $1.4M project is expected to be completed in April of 2015.

MW GOLDEN CONSTRUCTORS’ design build team includes WHP Training Towers, a leading provider of metal fire training towers. Founded in 1980, WHP designs and engineers more metal fire training buildings than any company in the world. JVA Consulting Engineers of Boulder, Colorado, and Denver-based Keenan Consulting Group are providing engineering services.
