MWGC introduces Construction Industry to High School Students

Castle Rock, CO – MW GOLDEN CONSTRUCTION (MWGC) recently added Micah Karr to our team. Micah is a senior in the Science Technology and Math Academy at Castle View High School in Castle Rock. He has taken classes including Geospatial Technologies, Engineering I – III, AP Chemistry, and Physics to prepare him for this opportunity, and he maintains a stellar 4.0 GPA. He has served as Vice President of the Technology Student Association and Team Captain of Vex Robotics—an educational platform featuring robotics as a tool to educate students about science, technology, engineering, and math. After graduation, Micah plans to major in mechanical engineering at Colorado State University.

“Micah is the latest of several Castle View students we’ve hired for internships, and they have all done well and all contributed,” said Jason Golden, MWGC Vice President. Golden continues, “Castle View has top notch students and an excellent Senior Internship Program. This is a great way for students to learn about the construction industry and a great way for MW GOLDEN CONSTRUCTORS to give back to the community.” Micah will earn school credit for the internship. His goals during the internship include performing a quantity survey on the new Denver Fire Department Training Simulator project, which MWGC will begin next month, studying the design/construction integration process, and completing an Operations and Maintenance Manual.
